PL 2014 || Weeks 1, 3 & 4

Good morning!  I am freezing my butt off in this little part of the world!  Hopefully, it's a bit more comfortable where you are...

I have a few weeks worth of Project Life to share with you today.  This weekend I had a mini-PL marathon.  I caught up on all my DVR shows while catching up on 2014.  I still have weeks to do in 2013 and I didn't want to get behind in 2014 already.  Anywho, here they are:

Week 1:
I love the "Hello 2014" card.  It actually came in my January Birchbox.  (Don't know what Birchbox is?  Click on the link.  It may just change your life!  :o) ) I loved the colors and knew that I wanted to cut it down to use in my PL spread.

Week 3:
This was my Studio Calico kit only spread.  I really like this kit.  There were a ton of great embellishments included in it.  Unfortunately, I'm not the biggest fan of the project I actually created.  Oh well.  You can't like them all.  On the plus side, I think the new style of Becky Higgins page protectors are really fun!

Week 4:
This was my Cocoa Daisy kit only spread for the month.  The colors are not colors that I typically gravitate towards, but I think they ended up looking okay...

Thanks for stopping by!!

PL update!

Hey, everyone!  I have a few Project Life spreads to share with you today.  The first one documents Week #2 of the year.  We were in Hawaii for the whole week.  (Sigh.  I miss it so much already and want to go back so badly!)  This spread was a lot of fun for me to make because I finally got to use a 12x12 photo.  I've wanted to do this for awhile now, but never really had a good occasion to do so.  I thought this picture would be perfect to blow up and use.

The right side of this spread was inspired by a fabulous layout created by Susan Weinroth. I even used the same paper as her because it worked so well with my photos!

The next spread to share is from Week 51 of 2013.  I have a few random weeks from the year that I need to finish up before I can officially close out my 2013 Project Life album.  I'm really hoping to get them all completed in the next few weeks.
This spread was made using only the Cocoa Daisy Day in the Life kit.  My goal this year is to try to make one spread a month using the CD supplies, one spread a month using my Studio Calico supplies and the other spreads can be made using anything.  I really need to put my supplies to use this year.  And of course, I had to document my Stitch Fix experience!

Week 2: Page Protector: Recollections; Cardstock: Bazzill;  Patterned Paper: Crate Paper; Wooden Letters: Pink Paislee; Wooden Shapes: Studio Calico; Enamel Dots: Doodlebug Design; Badges: Studio Calico; Evalicious; Paperclips: Freckled Fawn; Script Stickers: Heidi Swapp; Clothespin: American Crafts; Calendar: Hello Forever; Star Stickers, Sunburst: Studio Calico; Alpha Stickers: October Afternoon, Pebbles

Week 51: Page Protector: Becky Higgins (Design F); Journaling Cards: Cocoa Daisy, Evalicious; Alphas: October Afternoon; Wood Veneers: Cocoa Daisy, Studio Calico; Puffy Stickers: Evalicious; Label Stickers: Pink Paislee

The Studio || January Sketch

Good morning, everyone!  There is a sketch challenge posted at The Studio today.  Our sketch designer, Valerie, makes some of the greatest sketches, don't you think?  Here is this week's sketch:

Here is my take on it:

This is another layout that I made using the December 2013 Cocoa Daisy kit.  I'm not kidding when I say I LOVE the colors in that kit - and the Evalicious puffy stickers and badge...yummy!

Head on over to The Studio to see the other layouts the team created - they are all so inspiring!

A Cocoa Daisy Layout

I stopped my Studio Calico scrapbook subscription.  Gasp.  I know!  I still love Studio Calico.  I am an avid reader of their blog, I take multiple classes from them and I still subscribe to their Project Life kit.  However, their kits were drifting away from my current style (or my current style was drifting away from their kits), so I decided to mix it up a bit and try something new.

In June, while I was away, my husband subscribed to Cocoa Daisy for 6 months and surprised me with all the kits when I got home.  What an awesome gift!!  Well, I ended up loving them and decided to stop the SC subscription and renew the Cocoa Daisy subscription.

Here is the first layout that I made with one of their kits (the December 2013 one):

The colors in this kit were a lot of fun and I love all the great embellies they include, especially the Evalicious products!

Scraplift Saturdays - 11 Jan

Hi, everyone!  I hope your weekend is going well.  I am popping in with another installment of "Scraplift Saturdays."  The layout I chose to scraplift this week was one from last year.  When I originally created it, I was taking a scraplifting class from Studio Calico. This layout was actually a scraplift from one of Marcy Penner's layouts and it was a bit outside of my comfort zone (still is!).

Here is my new take...I went with larger photos, bolder patterns and cuter pictures:

Supplies: Layout 1: Cardstock: Bazzill; Patterned Paper: Studio Calico, Basic Grey, Lily Bee Designs, Fancy Pants, American Crafts; Envelopes: Fancy Pants; Wooden Shapes: Sodalicious; Journaling Card: My Mind's Eye; Alphas, Washi Tape, Mist: Studio Calico; Badge: Hello Forever by Marcy Penner; Star, Library Card: Basic Grey

Layout 2: Cardstock: Bazzill; Patterned Paper: Webster's Pages, Simple Stories, Bo Bunny, Studio Calico; Paper Bag: Webster's Pages; Alphas: American Crafts; Journaling Card, Mist, Cork Stickers: Studio Calico; Embroidery Floss: Prism; Tag: American Crafts; Badge: Evalicious

Gift Wrap Goodness: Using Washi Tape

Good morning, everyone!

One of the creative things I have decided to do this year is to make my gift wrapping more interesting.  I have all these scrap supplies that I will never get through in a million years (and I still subscribe to monthly kits...it's an addiction, people!), so I figured I should spread them out a little and use them in as many ways as possible.

To begin my gift wrapping endeavor, I jazzed up one of the gifts for Eric's birthday:

I created little banners out of washi tape and embroidery floss and then covered a wooden letter in the same washi tape for the tag.  I am hoping to be able to reuse this tag on a layout in the future.

Supplies: Kraft Paper: Scotch; Embroidery Floss: Prism; Tag: American Crafts; Label: Simple Stories; Washi Tape: Freckled Fawn; Arrow: Studio Calico; Wooden Letter: Pink Paislee; Transparent Doily: Maya Road

Back at The Studio!! (and HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Eric!)

I am sooooo excited to announce that I am back with The Studio Challenges design team! YAY!  Have I mentioned how much I love them?!?!

Their first challenge of the year is posted today and it requires you to look back at 2013.  I decided to focus on Eric & I.  Even though I was gone for 6.5 months this year, we had a great year together.  I know this year will be even better.

And speaking of the boy: HAPPY BIRTHDAY to him!  He turns 31 today.  I am so lucky to have him in my life.  Sorry for all the mushiness!

Thanks for stopping in.  We will be out of town for the next week and half on a much-needed vacation, but I have plenty of posts scheduled (like, probably too many) for while I am away.  Also, I really hope you'll join us over at The Studio!

PL 2014 Title Page

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

If you've followed my blog for a little while, you know that I started Project Life last year and totally fell in love.  I love traditional scrapbooking, but if I were forced to choose between that and Project Life, there would be no contest for me.  I love documenting my weeks and looking back on them...even the boring weeks.  And I know that I will appreciate these albums so much in the years to come...and I hope my future children will too.

Today I sat down and made my title page for 2014.  This page is proof that Eric is awesome.  Seriously.  He totally indulged me with my "2014 photo shoot."  He's a keeper!
I have had the 4x6 Studio Calico journaling card for a while.  I held onto it because I knew I wanted to use it on my title page.  However, I didn't realize until today that I would cut it in half and split it up.  I like the end result, though.

Are you doing PL this year?
