Combining Color Cast Designs + Felicity Jane

Hi everyone!  I have a new layout to share with you that I whipped up today as soon as my July Color Cast Designs order arrived.  I combined the July Confetti Hearts and the You & Me acrylics with the Kate Kit from Felicity Jane to create this:

I got the idea from a layout that I made earlier in the month for Pretty Little Studio.  I really like how it turned out.  I always love a good grid design!

Thanks for popping in - have a good night!

Designer Challenge with Jillibean Soup

Hello!!  I am popping in to share my layout for this month's Designer Challenge for Jillibean Soup.  This month we were asked to highlight a quote on our layout.  I used one of the awesome Jillibean cut files from the Silhouette Store and then built my design to side of the quote using the Bowl of Dreams collection.  I really like how it turned out!

Thanks for popping in - happy weekend!

Playing with Felicity Jane's Kate Kit

Hi everyone!  So let me preface this post by saying that there are a million other things I should be doing right now besides posting on my blog and playing with paper...the main one being unpacking all our stuff after the recent move!  But...alas, it is not meant to be this morning, as the pretty Kate Kit from Felicity Jane has been calling my name too long :)

With that being said, I fell back on one of my old stand-by designs to whip up a quick page and fulfill my creative urges:

I love the colors of this kit.  There are a ton of pretty pinks in it, too, but I didn't think that all the pink fit in with this photo.  Just means I'll have to knock out another layout soon :)

Thanks for popping in...back to unpacking for me!

All supplies are from Felicity Jane

July Jillibean Soup Shares

Good morning everyone!  I wanted to pop in and share 3/4 Jillibean Soup projects that I made for July...I'll still have one more project that will be up on their blog a little later this month.

First up, this layout featuring the world's most handsome pup and the Souper Celebration collection:

Then a pocket page I finished up while I was working on #the100dayproject - this one using the Hardy Hodgepodge collection:

And finally, this wooden plank I painted for baby girl's room.  It's simple but I kind of love it:

Thanks so much for popping in!

Happy 4 || Pretty Little Studio

Good morning everyone!  I am up on the Pretty Little Studio blog today sharing my newest layout made with the new Dream Big collection.

I love the blue, yellow and pink color combo with the pops of grey and black.  It's  just a combo that makes my heart happy :)

I decided to scrap a photo of my niece at her 4th birthday party.  The photo coordinates perfectly with the collection.  I centered the design of my layout and made sure that the photo really stood out.  I added in some layers and made sure to sprinkle in that pop of black around the page.  I also outlined the fun die cut alphas so they would stand out better against the background.

In the end, my design was fairly simple, but I really love how it turned out.  I think the adorable photo really shines when paired with such a pretty, vibrant collection:

Thanks for stopping in...happy Fri-yay!  :)

Fun in the Summer Sun || Color Cast Designs

Hi everyone!  I wanted to share another layout that I made with the June releases from Color Cast Designs.  This one uses three different sets: the June 2017 Stars Confetti, the Sea Confetti, and the Salt in my Hair sets.  I thought they combined perfectly to highlight a photo of my adorable nephew at the pool:

As you can tell, I did a little bit of mixed media action on this layout.  I used watercolor paper for my background and did a line of watercolors across the top of the page and had them drip down.  The effect is fun, but I definitely need to practice more.  I'm certainly not a mixed media expert :)

Here are a few close-ups of the pretty Color Cast Designs embellishments:

July 2016 Project Life

Woo hoo!  Another month completed for my Project Life album!  #the100dayproject is certainly helping me catch up...and while I won't be caught up by the time the project ends on Wednesday, I should at least be motivated to continue the updates :)

Anywho, here's July 2016...a lot of these products are from Hip Kit Club...and surprisingly, their holiday kit from last year.  I love the hot pink and blue color combo, so I kept that pretty consistent throughout the monthly spread.

Thanks for popping in!  Happy weekend!

Pretty Little Studio || Love My Life

Good morning!  Happy Independence Day to everyone in the U.S.!  I hope you have a safe and happy holiday!  I just wanted to pop in and share a layout that I have on the Pretty Little Studio blog this morning.  I was challenged to create a layout inspired by this image:

As soon as I saw our inspiration photo, I knew I had to use the Beautiful Day collection.  I was also inspired to piece my layout together from a lot of different scraps.  I decided to use the preview sheet that comes in each pack of paper.  I love this collection so much that nothing can go to waste!
I cut out all the little squares and created a grid.  I also cut out hearts from some of the little squares to add a little more interested to the layout.
After I had my grid glued down, I added my photo and then scattered around a bunch of different sentiment cut-outs and stickers.  I really love how it all turned out!
Thanks for stopping in!

Happy Reunion || Color Cast Designs

Hello!  Happy Fourth of July/Canada Day weekend!  I always love a long weekend :)

I wanted to pop in and share my first project for Color Cast Designs.  I used the June 2017 confetti mix on this one and the stars and their colors inspired this overall design.  I also loved these recent photos of Eric & Moose.  Eric just got back from a training exercise and hadn't seen Moose in about 2.5 weeks.  They were both so happy to be reunited and it was super sweet:

I'm sort of in love with the light blue thrown into the traditional patriotic color combo.  Makes me all happy.  Make sure you visit the Color Cast Designs website to see all the new releases and snag some before they're all sold out!
